SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the invention is to avoid the above-mentioned disadvantages and problems of the prior art. The device according to the invention provides simple, comfortable and safe positioning of the earplug in the ear canal, which ensures a correct protection against harmful sounds.
The present invention relates to a device for hearing protection, comprising an elongate shaft and a gripping part, the shaft comprising a connecting portion designed for connection to the gripping part, a connecting portion for connection to an earplug projecting radially relative to the shaft and for insertion into a hearing passage. and an intermediate portion arranged between the connecting portion and the connecting portion, characterized in that the shaft comprises a first bend arranged between the connecting portion and the intermediate portion and a second bend arranged between the connecting portion and the intermediate portion, the intermediate portion being arranged at a first angle relative to the connecting portion a second angle relative to the connecting portion, so that the intermediate portion is angled backwards relative to the connecting portion when the connecting portion is connected to an earplug arranged in an ear canal. The design of the shaft results in a simpler insertion of the earplug past the tragus and past an occurring curvature of the ear canal, whereby the earplug can be more easily placed in a comfortable and safe position.
The shaft can be arranged at an angle in relation to the grip part, so that the shaft projects obliquely upwards from the grip part when the connecting portion is connected to an earplug arranged in an ear canal. In this way, the device is designed after a normal ear canal to further simplify insertion of the earplug therein.
The shaft can be detachably connected to an earplug or fixedly connected thereto. The earplug can be oval or made with an elliptical cross-section. It has been found that a normal ear canal is somewhat oval or elliptical in its cross-section, so that the ear canal is somewhat elongated in a substantially vertical direction. An oval earplug provides safe and comfortable hearing protection. The earplug can be detachably connected to the shaft and thus replaceable. The grip part can be made in the form of a plate, the grip part extending substantially in a first plane. In this way a secure grip is provided for a user, whereby the device can be operated in a simple manner. A long axis of the elliptical cross-section of the earplug can extend in the corresponding direction as the grip part, wherein both the long axis of the earplug and the grip part extend in substantially vertical planes when using the device. In this way, the ovality or elliptical direction of the earplug corresponds to the ovality of the ear canal when a user holds the grip part between thumb and forefinger, the earplug ovality being correctly oriented in relation to the ear canal ovality when inserting the earplug into the ear canal. When inserting the earplug, a user can thus hold the grip part in such a way that the grip part is directed downwards, whereby the oval design of the earplug is oriented in a correct manner in relation to the oval design of the ear canal. When the earplug is placed in the ear canal, the grip part extends substantially vertically downwards, whereby a user knows that the orientation of the device and the earplug is correct and that the earplug is inserted correctly.
The connecting portion can be elliptical and the earplug can be made with a recess for receiving the connecting portion. In this way, the position of the earplug on the shaft is ensured, so that the ovality of the earplug is oriented correctly. At the same time, rotation of the earplug around the center line of the connecting party is prevented. The connecting portion may be provided with at least one and preferably two or more radially projecting projections for co-operation with the earplug, so that the earplug does not inadvertently leave the shaft and so that rotation of the earplug is prevented.
Further features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the description of exemplary embodiments below, the accompanying figures and the dependent claims.

THE INVENTION Referring to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, a hearing protection device 10 is schematically illustrated. Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 show a left device 1OL 10 for use in a left ear and a right device 10R for use in a right ear. The design of the left device 10L is mirror image in relation to the right device 10R.
The device 10 comprises an elongate shaft 11 and a gripping part 12.
The shaft 11 and the grip part 12 are, for example, formed in one piece in a suitable plastic material. For example, the grip portion 12 is marked to identify whether the device 10 is intended for use in a left ear or right ear.
The shaft 11 in Fig. 1 is connected to an earplug 13 for insertion into an ear canal, which is described in more detail below. According to an embodiment of the invention, the earplug is detachable and replaceable. Alternatively, the earplug 13 is fixedly connected to the shaft 11. For example, the earplug 13 is designed as one or more flanges projecting radially from the shaft 12. The earplug 13 is, for example, made of a flexible material, such as foam plastic or other suitable plastic or rubber material.
The shaft 11 comprises a connecting portion 14 designed for connection to the grip part 12, a connecting portion 15 designed for connection to the earplug 13 and an intermediate portion 16 arranged between the connecting portion 14 and the connecting portion 15. For example, the shaft 12 is made slightly tapered towards the connecting portion 15. According to In the embodiment shown, the connecting portion 15 is provided with at least one radially projecting projection 17 for co-operation with the earplug 13, so that the earplug 13 is held at the connecting portion 15 of the shaft 11. In the embodiment shown, the connecting portion 15 is provided with a first projecting projections 17a and a second projection 17b projecting in the opposite direction. For example, the projections 17a, 17b project in opposite directions in a vertical plane when using the device 10. According to an alternative embodiment, the connecting portion 15 is provided with further projections, such as projecting projections across the first projection 17a and the second projection 17b, which not shown in the figures.
The grip part 12 is designed to be held between a user's thumb and forefinger. In the embodiment shown, the grip part 12 is designed as a plate, which extends substantially in a first plane. For example, the first plane is a substantially vertical plane. For example, the grip part 12 extends in the same direction as the first projections 17a and second projections 17b of the connecting portion 15. In the embodiment shown, the grip part 12 is made with a concave abutment surface 18 for abutment against the user's thumb. For example, the grip portion 12 is provided with a convex abutment surface for abutment against the user's index finger, the convex abutment surface being arranged on one side of the grip portion 12 opposite the concave abutment surface 18. For example, the concave abutment surface 18 is marked to identify if the device 10 is intended. for use in a left or right ear.
The grip part 12 is arranged at an angle to the shaft 11, so that a center line A of the grip part 12 is arranged at an angle d to a center line B of the shaft 11 at the connecting portion 14. The angle oi is arranged in the plane of the grip part 12, i.e. . the first plane, the shaft 11 being arranged obliquely upwardly projecting from the grip part 12 in use. The angle oi mainly corresponds to an angle with which a normal ear canal is angled. Thus, the angle d is more than 90 ° and for example 100 ° -150 °, more preferably 105 ° -140 °, 110 ° -130 °, 115 ° -125 °, 115 ° -120 °, or about 117 ° -118 °. In the embodiment shown, the earplug 13 is made with a rounded top 19 and a wider base 20. Alternatively, the earplug 13 is cylindrical.
Referring to Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the shaft 11 and the grip part 12 are shown in more detail. The shaft 11 is made with a first bend 21 for bending the shaft 11 in a first direction and a second bend 22 for bending the shaft 11 in a second direction to angle the intermediate portion 16 forward and thereby facilitate insertion into a hearing passage. The first bend 21 is arranged between the connecting portion 14 and the intermediate portion 16. The second bend 22 is arranged between the connecting portion 15 and the intermediate portion 16. The first bend 21 is designed so that the intermediate portion 16 is angled forward relative to the connecting portion 14, where at the intermediate portion 16 extends obliquely upwards and forwards in relation to the handle 12 or the connecting portion 14 in use. The second bend 22 is designed, for example, so that the connecting portion 15 extends substantially parallel to the connecting portion 14 or the handle 12. Thus, the shaft 11 is designed so that the connecting portion 15 is displaced relative to the gripping part 12 or the connecting portion 14. For example, the connecting portion 15 extends in a second plane offset relative to the first plane, so that the connecting portion 15 is displaced forward relative to the grip portion 12 in use and so that the first projections 17a and second projections 17b of the connecting portion 15 project in the second plane. planet. For example, the first plane is substantially parallel to the second plane. Alternatively, the second plane is arranged at an angle to the first plane.
The intermediate portion 16 is arranged through the first bend 21 at a first angle β relative to the connecting portion 14 and through the second bend 22 at a second angle y in relation to the connecting portion 15, so that the intermediate portion 16 is angled backwards relative to the connecting portion 14 when the connecting portion 14 is connected to an earplug 13 arranged in an ear canal. The first angle ß is arranged in a first direction while the second angle γ is arranged in a second direction opposite to the second direction. The first angle ß is, for example, more than 90 °, so that the intermediate portion 16 is angled obliquely forward relative to the connecting portion 14. The first angle ß is, for example, 100-170 °, 110-160 °, 120-150 °, 130- 140 ° or about 135 °. The second angle γ corresponds, for example, to the first angle ß, so that the connecting portion 15 is arranged substantially parallel to the connecting portion 14. Alternatively, the connecting portion 15 is angled relative to the connecting portion 14. The second angle y is, for example, 100 170 °, 110-160 °, 120-150 °, 130-140 ° or about 135 °. Thus, the center line B of the shaft 11 is curved so that the center line at the connecting portion 14 of the shaft 11 is offset radially laterally relative to the center line B at the connecting portion 15 of the shaft. For example, the distance C is laterally between the center line B at the connecting portion 14 and the center line B at the connecting portion 2-20 mm. 3-15 mm, 4-10 mm, 5-8 mm or about 6- 7 mm. For example, the center line B at the connecting portion 14 is arranged in the first plane, the center line B at the connecting portion 15 being arranged in the second plane and the second plane being arranged at the distance C from the first plane. The distance C extends between the first plane and the second plane in a direction substantially transverse to the first plane and the second plane. The first and second planes are arranged substantially vertically when the earplug 13 is placed in an ear canal, the distance C extending substantially horizontally. The center line B of the connecting portion 15 is offset in relation to the center line B of the connecting portion 14 in both the horizontal and vertical directions.
The grip part 12 is, for example, made with a length D of 5-30 mm or about 10-20 mm. The shaft 11 is made with a length E from the grip part 12 or a first end of the shaft 11 to the middle of the intermediate portion 16. The length E thus includes the connecting portion 14, the first bend 21 and half the intermediate portion 16. Furthermore, the shaft 11 is made with a length F from the center of the intermediate portion 16 to a second end of the shaft 11. The length F includes half the intermediate portion 16, the second bend 22 and the connecting portion 15. For example, the length E is equal to the length F. For example, the length E is 5-20 mm el smiles about 10 mm, the length F being 5-20 mm or about 10 mm. The total length of the shaft 12 is, for example, 10-30 mm, 15-25 mm or about 20 mm. The total length of the shaft 11 and the grip part 12 is, for example, 20-60 mm, 30-50 mm, 35-45 mm or about 40 mm.
Referring to Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, the design of the shaft 12 according to an embodiment of the present invention is shown. The shaft 12, or at least the connecting portion 15 of the shaft 12, is made with an oval or elliptical cross-section to prevent an earplug 13 connected to the connecting portion 15 from being rotated about the central axis B of the connecting portion 15. and a long axis Y. The long axis Y extends, for example, substantially in the same direction as the first projection 17a and the second projection 17b and also in the same direction as the grip part 12. For example, the long axis Y, the first projection 17a, the second projection 17b and the grip portion 12 substantially vertically when using the device 10.
Referring to Fig. 7, an earplug 13 according to an embodiment of the invention is shown. The earplug 13 is made with an oval or elliptical cross-section in the same way as the connecting portion 15. Thus, a periphery or circumference of the earplug 13 is oval or elliptical to provide improved comfort and improved protection in use. In the embodiment shown, the earplug 13 is provided with a recess 23 for receiving the connecting portion 15, so that the connecting portion 15 can be inserted into the recess 23 for connecting the earplug 13 to the shaft 12. The recess 24 is, for example, circular , elliptical, oval or of any other suitable shape. In the embodiment where the recess 23 is oval or elliptical, the recess 23 extends in the same direction as the elliptical cross-section of the earplug 13. When the earplug 13 is connected to the shaft 12, a long axis of the earplug 13 and, where applicable, a long axis of the recess 23 thus coincide with the long axis Y of the cross section of the connecting portion 15. Thus, an ovality of the earplug 13 coincides with the ovalities of the recess 23 and the connecting portion 15. The oval or elliptical shape of the earplug 13 extends in substantially the same direction as the grip portion 12, i.e. substantially vertically in use.
Referring to Fig. 8 and Fig. 9, an alternative embodiment of the invention is shown, in which the connecting portion 15 is provided with a radially projecting flange 24 for co-operation with the earplug 13 for connection thereto. The flange 24 is for instance arranged at the other end of the shaft 12. The flange 24 runs, for example, around the periphery of the connecting portion 15.
Referring to Fig. 10, there is schematically shown an ear canal 25 and the device 10 according to an embodiment of the invention seen from behind. Seen from behind, the ear canal 25 is angled obliquely upwards. To facilitate insertion of the earplug 13, the shaft 11 is arranged at an angle o 1 to the grip part 12, as described with reference to Fig. 2. When inserting the earplug 13 into the ear canal 25, a user holds the grip part 12 between thumb and forefinger in such a way that the grip part 12 is directed substantially vertically downwards, the long axis of the oval or elliptical cross-section of the earplug 13 extending in the same direction for correct positioning relative to the ear canal 25. When the earplug 13 is correctly inserted, the grip part 12 points downwards.
Referring to Fig. 11, the ear canal 25 is shown from above. As can be seen from Fig. 11, the ear canal 25 due to the tragus 26 is made with a curvature 27, so that a portion 28 of the ear canal 25 is angled obliquely forward. When inserting the earplug 13 into the ear canal 25, a user grips the grip part 12 and advances the shaft 11 with the earplug 13 to the mouth of the ear canal. Then the user angles the grip part 12 backwards while bringing the shaft 11 and the earplug 13, so that the earplug can be moved up to the curvature 27 of the hearing thread 25 where the tragus 26 further complicates insertion into the hearing thread 25, as shown in Fig. 12. the gripping part 12 moves forward again and can be moved by the bending of the shaft 12 past the tragus 26 and the curvature 27 of the ear canal 25 to sit comfortably and securely in the ear canal 25, as shown in Fig. 13.
